CHICAGO --- Robert Morris University's Gordy Gurson (Buffalo Grove, Ill.) continued his torrid scoring pace, while Olivet Nazarene University's Tim Walker (Grand Blanc, Mich.) held two Tiger opponents to just one goal total in earning Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively, for the week ending September 9.

Gurson, a junior forward, gained the distinction for the second time in three weeks after scoring a pair of goals twice in wins over NAIA clubs that were among others receiving votes in last week's NAIA poll.  In fact, Gurson tallied all but one of Robert Morris' five goals over the two games to keep the Eagles unbeaten on the season.

Gurson produced both scores in a 2-1 victory over AIB College of Business (Iowa) on Thursday before authoring the other two tallies in a 3-2 victory over Graceland University (Iowa) on Saturday.

For the season, Gurson has recorded eight goals and 16 points – both team highs – for the Eagles, who are 4-0-1 on the year.

Walker, a senior goalkeeper, allowed only one goal in two games during the week enabling Olivet Nazarene to come away with a split of its two decisions.  Walker posted the shutout recording one save in a 2-0 victory over host Mount Vernon Nazarene University (Ohio) in the MVNU Tournament on Friday.  He followed that up by allowing just the one goal in a difficult 1-0 setback to Davenport University (Mich.) on Saturday.

Olivet Nazarene is 2-2 on the season.
