CHICAGO --- Leading her team to a 2-0 start in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference play, Robert Morris University's Kory Honel (Bourbonnais, Ill.) has been named the league's volleyball player of the week for the seven-day period ending September 9, it was announced on Tuesday morning.

Honel, a senior outside hitter, carried the Eagles to a pair of three-game match victories over Roosevelt University on Tuesday and Illinois Institute of Technology on Thursday.  In the Roosevelt match, she authored a double-double with her 15 kills and 10 digs, while in the Illinois Tech match she posted a team-high 14 digs.

For the two matches, Honel averaged 3.83 kills and 4.0 digs per game, while attacking at a .327 clip.  She also registered two aces and a pair of assist blocks over the two matches.

The two wins improved Robert Morris to 3-7 on the season.
