CHICAGO --- Keying a perfect 5-0 week with her 60 kills, 35 digs and .310 attack percentage, Saint Xavier University's Kelly Knudsen (Oak Lawn, Ill.) has been named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the seven-day period ending Sept. 2.

Knudsen, a 6-0 senior outside hitter, authored no less than nine kills in each of SXU's five matches en route to a 3.75 kills per game average over 16 games.  Defensively, she averaged 2.19 digs per contest.

Knudsen's other numbers for the week included five service aces, four of which came in a four-game victory over Siena Heights University (Mich.) on Saturday, where she also delivered 18 kills and 12 digs.  Knudsen totaled eight blocks, as well, for the week, with seven being of the assist variety.

Saint Xavier University swept the field at its combined tournament with Trinity Christian College going 4-0 over the weekend and lost only one of 16 games during the week to extend its overall winning streak to seven matches.  The Cougars are 7-1 on the season.
