Enzley Mitchell IV has been appointed as the new head men's basketball coach of the Illinois Institute of Technology men's basketball team. Mitchell, who was hired as Director of Athletics in 2010 will hold both positions.
Mitchell's appointment as head men's basketball coach follows the announcement last week of the reinstatement of men's and women's basketball, which were suspended in 2009.
" I am honored to have the opportunity to lead or men's basketball team and thank President Anderson for his support and confidence."
Prior to arriving at IIT, Mitchell served as Director of Athletics and head men's basketball coach at Northern New Mexico College. At Northern New Mexico, Mitchell led the Eagles to the 2010 USCAA national tournament in his second season.
